Some answers to your questions about Microdermabrasion:
What can Microdermabrasion do?
The treatment provides a very gentle form of Dermabrasion to
superficial layers of the epidermis. This treatment assists in the
reduction of open blocked and enlarged pores and smoothes fine facial
lines and areas of irregularity including acne scarring.
What will I feel like after treatment?
You'll feel vibrant and healthy and you will notice and immediate
difference in the way your skin feels because it will be softer
and smoother. Microdermabrasion has the affect of blending or removing
fine lines and pigmentation caused by overexposure to the sun. You
may experience a small amount of glow on the cheeks, but this will
normally disappear after a couple of hours. You can, of course,
return to work immediately and apply makeup as required.
How many treatements will I need?
A normal course of Microdermabrasion treatments varies, depending
on the condition of the skin. It is recommended that you have a
minimum of 4-6 treatments in order to see substantial improvement.
Consultations are highly recommended in order to select the correct
treatment protocol for the individual's personal needs. It is important
that you closely follow the skin care regimen we prescribe because
this will dramatically enhance the treatments you receive. this
may involve discontinuing certain products that you already use
in favor of others. Maintenance is recommended after your completed
course of treatments every six to eight weeks.
How much do Microdermabrasion Treatments cost?
That depends on whether you schedule a single treatment or elect
to have multiple treatments. We offer special package fees with
a considerable discount.
How is Microdermabrasion different to a Glycolic Peel?
Glycolic
peels do not remove as many dead skin cells as Microdermabrasion.
As a guide, no less than twelve glycolic peels are required to duplicate
the effects of just three Microdermabrasion treatments. However,
Glycolic peels may be used in conjunction with or alternated with
Microdermabrasion to enhance the results, depending on the individual's
skin type.
